Camp Columbia, Thetis Island

Camp ColumbiaThere is a buzz of activity getting ready for the 2010 summer ministry season!

Staff members are coming together, programs are being created, volunteers are getting excited, children and families are registering for their favorite camp!

The years work projects are nearing completion. We will head into the summer with a new dock, completed lats, and even a few surprises!

Camp ColumbiaIn January I was asked to step away from my regular role, as Family Life Minister at the cathedral, to help pull together the summer program at camp.

I have been overwhelmed by the phone calls & emails offering support and voicing excitement that camp is “going ahead”.

If you have always supported the ministry of Camp Columbia, please continue to do so.

If you are skeptical about the place of camp in the life of our diocese in this transitional time, please talk to people who have seen the transformative power of camp ministry.

Camp ColumbiaI believe with all my heart that the ministry of Camp Columbia can contribute abundantly to the ministry of our diocese.

At this point we will be putting all of our energy and resources into a thriving summer ministry directed to children and families!

We can be proud of this! We have a summer camp worth celebrating!

- Ruth Macintosh
